HULETTS WHOLESALE WHITE AND BROWN SUGAR COMPETITION 2025 RULES (“RULES”) (IN-STORE ENTRY FORM)
1. The promoter is Tongaat Hulett Limited Reg. No. 1892/000610/06 (in business rescue) (“the Promoter”).
2. This promotional competition is open from 12 March 2025 and ends at 11:59 pm on 30 April 2025. Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
3. The promotional competition is open to all South African citizens residing in South Africa, in possession of a valid identity document, except any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter, its marketing service providers or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members.
4. Any participant under the age of 18 years must be fully assisted by his/her guardian, who approves and consents to the participant’s participation in the competition and the participant’s receipt/possession of the prize.
5. To enter, participants will be required to:
5.1 Purchase Huletts White or SunSweet Brown Sugar pack or baler in participating pack sizes:
5.1.1 Huletts White Sugar: 2,5kg, 5kg, 10kg & 12,5kg
5.1.2 Huletts SunSweet Brown Sugar: 2kg, 3kg, 5kg, 8kg & 10kg
5.1.3 The participating sugar packs MUST be purchased from the specific wholesalers where the promotion is advertised. Purchases from any other store will be disqualified.
5.2 Fill in your details on the entry form supplied and place the completed form in the entry box provided in the store.
6. Participants may enter more than once provided the new entry is linked to a new purchase and a new till slip. Only one entry is allowed per till slip.
7. Please keep proof of purchase (till slip) for verification purposes.
8. All winners will be required to provide their names, ID numbers, and contact details to sign an acknowledgment of receipt of the prize.
9. In terms of these Rules, 50 (Fifty) Winners will be selected by means of a random draw on 5 May by a representative or agent of the Promoter. Winners will be contacted within 7 working days of the draw. Winners will be notified via telephone call, where the winner will be required to verify their details. The Promoter (or their agent) will endeavour to contact the prize winner once every day for 3 consecutive working days after their name is drawn. If the prize winner cannot be contacted during this period, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected in accordance with the Rules. The winners will have 5 days from the time they are contacted to provide the required information.
10. The prize is: 1 x Buddy Charcoal Barrel Braai Stand valued at R2900 (brand of prize may vary depending on stock availability).
11. In the event that the prize is not available despite the Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to procure the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value.
12. The prize is not exchangeable or transferrable.
13. Any prize not taken up for any reason within two months of notification will be forfeited.
14. The prize includes delivery to the day-time address supplied by the winner, and the Promoter will endeavour to show proof of delivery upon written request by a winner.
15. By participating in the Competition, the winners hereby accept that they might be required to take part in further publicity relating to the Competition. By participating in this Competition, the Winners agree to allow their names and likenesses to be used for promotional purposes aligned with the Promoter’s business, including but not limited to posting photos and the Participant’s Personal Information/Personal Data to the Promoter’s Website(s), Facebook or any other digital or social media interfaces. However, the winner has the right to object to these images being used by written notification to the Promoter at [email protected]
16. The Winners hereby acknowledge that by participating in this Competition, the Promoter will be Processing their Personal Information/Personal Data and the Winners specifically consent to the Promoter Processing any Personal Information/Personal Data which is collected through the Competition for purposes of not only adjudicating the Competition, but also for purpose(s) of marketing the Promoters Services and the products and services of any Third Parties and/or Customer(s) to the Winners. In the event that any Participant wishes to object to the Processing of his or her Personal Information/Personal Data, which right the Participant is at all times entitled to exercise, the Participant must please direct such a request to the Promoter’s Information Officer at the following email address [email protected]
17. The Participants/Winners consent to take part in any of the Promoter’s publicity campaigns, they acknowledge that they will not be entitled to any remuneration for such participation and all materials arising from such participation will be the sole and exclusive property of the Promoter.
18. Failure to claim the prize or a refusal or inability to comply with the terms and conditions of this competition within 2 months of a Participant being notified that they have been selected as a winner of this competition will disqualify the winner, and a new winner will be drawn in their place at the sole discretion of the Promoter.
19. Personal Information provided by any participant by entering this competition will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (Act No. 4 of 2013) read together with the Tongaat Hulett Privacy Notice (https://www.hulettssugar.co.za/privacy-notice/). By entering the competition the participant consents to their personal information being shared with the Tongaat Hulett employees, contractors or agents for the purpose of this competition, for the
purpose of sharing future promotional competitions and used for the purposes contemplated in clause 15 and 16 above.
20. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. The Promoter shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
21. Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged, or delayed as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
22. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry and associated entries if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, any attempt to use multiple e-mail addresses, profiles, contact details or Meta accounts or other tactics to enter more than the stated limit or through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.
23. No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups, or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
24. The Promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its opinion and if circumstances arise outside of their control. In the event of such change or termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter or its agents.
25. Neither the Promoter, its agents, its associated companies, nor any directors, officers, or employees of such shall be liable for any loss, damage or injury, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the Participant and Winners.
26. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Meta and the participants acknowledge that they are providing information to the Promoter and its agents only and not to Meta. All participants in this Competition release Meta and any other online platforms from all liabilities and claims arising out of or in connection with this competition and these Rules.
27. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Telkom, MTN, Vodacom, Cell C or any other mobile network and the participants acknowledge that they are providing information to the Promoter and its agents only and not to telephone networks.
28. All participants in this Competition release Telkom, MTN, Vodacom, Cell C and any other mobile network from all liabilities and claims arising out of or in connection with this competition and these Rules.
29. A copy of these Rules can be found on the following website: www.hulettssugar.co.za throughout the period of the competition. Participation in the promotional competition constitutes acceptance of these Rules and participants agree to abide by the Rules.
30. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered.
