Cherry Tea Loaf



115 g Butter OR Margarine
225 g Self-raising Flour
60 g Huletts White Sugar
2 Large Eggs
50 ml Milk
50 g Glacé Cherries, chopped



  1. Rub the butter or margarine into the flour until it looks like breadcrumbs.
  2. Add the sugar and mix.
  3. Beat together the eggs and milk. Add, together with the glacé cherries, to the flour mixture and mix into a dough.
  4. Spoon the dough into a tin and bake in an oven at 180°C for about 45 minutes or until golden brown. Turn out onto a wire rack and allow to cool.
