French Pear Dessert

Makes 4–5 servings



160 ml Milk
40 ml (8 t) Cream
40 ml (8 t) Huletts White Sugar
40 ml (8 t) Flour
2 Eggs
5 ml (1 t) Vanilla Essence
5 Pears, peeled, cored and cut into 1 cm thick rounds
30 ml (2 T) Huletts SunSweet Brown Sugar
15 ml (1 T) Cold Butter, cut into small pieces



  1. In a blender, combine the milk, cream, sugar, flour and eggs. Blend for 5 seconds, then add the vanilla essence.
  2. Transfer to a buttered 1 litre ovenproof dish and place the pear rounds on top. Sprinkle the sugar over the pears and dot with the butter.
  3. Bake at 200°C for approximately 50 minutes, then serve immediately.
