Carribean Cuppa

Enjoy delicious treats with no bitter aftertaste.

Serves 4-6


45 ml (3 T) strong filter or espresso ground coffee

2 cloves

4 cardamom pods

2 star anise

2.5 ml (½ t) ground nutmeg

2.5 ml (½ t) ground ginger

45 ml (1 T) ground cinnamon, plus extra to serve

1 litre hot water

Huletts Equisweet, to taste

250 ml (1 cup) fresh cream, whipped
  1. Place coffee, cloves, cardamom, star anise, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon in a coffee or spice grinder and process until finely ground.
  2. Transfer to a coffee plunger, pour in the hot water, and sweeten to taste.
  3. Leave to brew for about 10 minutes.
  4. Serve topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with extra cinnamon.
