Mulled Wine



1 bottle dry red wine
4 sachets HULETTS EquiSweet
125ml brandy (optional)
2 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
A pinch grated nutmeg
2 oranges, thinly sliced
1 lemon, thinly sliced



  1. Put all the ingredients in a heavy based pot and bring to just under boiling point.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes without allowing to boil.
  3. Strain, reserving a few of the orange and lemon slices.
  4. Serve in glasses garnished with the lemon and orange slices.
  5. Drink as warm as possible.
