Sticky Chilli Chicken Wings

Serves 4



1,5kg chicken wings

Chilli sauce:
3 red chillies, deseeded and chopped
15ml (1T) fresh ginger, peeled and grated
500ml water
125ml soy sauce
125ml white wine vinegar
150g (185ml) Huletts White Sugar
125ml fresh coriander, chopped



  1. To make the chilli sauce, place the chillies, ginger, water, soy sauce, vinegar and sugar in a deep frying pan over medium heat and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the chicken wings and cook, covered, for 30-35 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove the lid and continue cooking for 15-20 minutes, turning the chicken until it is cooked and well coated in the chilli sauce.
  4. Sprinkle with coriander and serve.
