Ingredients
- ½ white onion, sliced
- 15 ml sunflower oil
- 30 ml Huletts White Sugar
- ½ loaf of bread
- 100g fried chips
- 1 Russian sausage, fried
- 2 slices cheese
- 45-60 ml atchar
- 1 extra large egg, fried

Method
- Fry the onion in the oil over a medium heat.
- Once it has had time to sweat and change colour, add the sugar and reduce the heat.
- Simmer for a further 10 minutes until the onions are sticky and caramelised.
- To make the kota, remove the crust from one long side of the bread and hollow out the loaf.
- Toast the bread you have removed from the loaf, on all sides, in a hot pan.
- Fill the loaf with the fried chips, then the sausage, the onions, the cheese and finally the atchar.
- Lastly, top with the fried egg and the toasted bread.
