Lemon Sauce



125 ml ( ½ cup) Huletts White Sugar
15 ml (1 T) Cornflour
200 ml Boiling Water
30 ml (2 T) Butter
80 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
Grated Nutmeg (optional)



  1. Mix the sugar and cornflour, adding the water gradually while stirring.
  2. Cook over heat, stirring all the time, for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the butter, lemon juice and grated nutmeg (if desired).

Serving Suggestions: Good with apple tart as a change from cream, or with fresh fruit salad.
