Homemade Tomato Sauce

Makes ± 4 x 250g jars

1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
30ml oil
1kg ripe, red tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
15ml (1T) Huletts White Sugar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method: 

Method

  1. Sauté onion and garlic gently in oil until onion is soft and transparent.
  2. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer, partly covered, for 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Add a little more water if needed.
  4. Store, covered, in refrigerator or freezer.
