Our innovative Farmco initiative is at the heart of our transformation strategy. As land has been targeted for future property development, it is the goal of FarmCo to ensure that land remains productive under sugarcane and is managed by accomplished black farmers from the region.
Two businesses, Uzinto Sugar Farming and Elamasawzi Project spearhead our FarmCo project and collectively will provide in excess of 170000 tons of sugarcane to the Tongaat Huletts business. With ambitious goals and solid 5-to-10 year strategic plans, both businesses are set to provide sustainable employment and development opportunities for the areas in which they operate, ensuring a sweet future for all involved.
