Tongaat Hulett is dedicated to helping grow and nurture young minds in our communities. We attended the Durban University of Technology (DUT), Ntshidi Primary School and Phambili High School, to support and help guide students with their future.

DUT Careers Expo

Tongaat Hulett participated in the 2023 Durban University of Technology (DUT) career exhibition. The expo took place on the 16th & 17th of August. We took the opportunity to provide career guidelines to the learners so that they make the appropriate choices regarding their academic studies. Not only did we showcase Tongaat Hulett, but we also met potential young talent. We had so much fun interacting with these learners, and responding to their various questions; helping them better understand how to make the right career decisions.

All smiles at Ntshidi Primary School

In August, our Tongaat Hulett team paid a visit to Ntshidi Primary School. This school is situated in the central area of Ohhahheni operating under the traditional leadership of Inkosi Mzimela.

We donated school shoes to learners from Ntshidi Primary School. This is part of Tongaat Hulett’s ongoing programme where we assist pupils in need of school shoes and uniforms.

School uniforms contribute to an improved culture of learning in schools. They build a sense of pride and increase learner attendance and attention in class

A boost for Mathematics

We continue to show our support to the youth by assisting the communities in the areas our company operates.

In August, our refinery team paid a visit to Phambili High School on Sarnia Road in Seaview. The community-based school is a neighbour to our Refinery Operation in Rossburgh.

Tongaat Hulett has committed an amount of R30 000 towards the procurement of tablets and scientific calculators in support of the exceptional results received over the last 5 years.

Our priority at Tongaat Hulett is the welfare and well-being of our stakeholders and the communities in which we operate. We will continue to monitor and respond to the social issues, impacting our communities.

Here’s to #GrowingASweetFuture!
