The festive season is typically associated with hope and joy, but it can become a period of uncertainty for young girls who rely on school aid for hygiene packs. As a dedicated strategic partner for the eThekwini Municipality, and in response to a call for assistance from Ward 62 Councilor, Mr. T.H. Nene, wanted to ensure that the young ladies participating in the 2023 Uthongathi Reed Dance could enjoy the season without worrying about their sanitary needs.
With compassion, we distributed 120 hygiene packs which had sanitary pads, bar soap, and a pack of Huletts Sugar. However, this special day went beyond the distribution of essential items. Uthongathi Reed Dance is a celebration with profound significance, It’s a special event dedicated to commemorating and educating young ladies about the journey into adolescence. It also focused on instilling a sense of pride within the young ladies under the theme “Ziqhenye Ngobuntombi Bakho” .
Our sponsorship of hygiene packs contributed to our vision of seeing our communities empowered. We remain committed to making a positive impact and growing a sweet future.
